FAQs / Help

What time should we arrive to see Santa?

You need to arrive on site no later than the time on your booking to see Santa.

How long can I stay?

Your ticket gives you full access to the Smart Trees site and facilities outside of your booked grotto visit time, for the whole day of your visit, during advertised opening times.

I have a baby; do they need a ticket?

All persons entering the grotto require a ticket.

The minimum entry is 1 adult and one paying child (with a present). So as long as there is 1 child with a present in your group, a child under 12 months ticket (with no present) can be booked.

A group with only one child, even if under 12 months, must purchase a child ticket (with present)

Can I take my pushchair into the grotto?

We do not allow pushchairs/buggies into the grotto; they can go on the sleigh ride (double ones don’t fit). The child will need to be carried the short distance to the grotto. Your buggy will be taken to buggy park at the top of the stairs near the grotto exit for you.

Can I change my booking?

This is sometimes possible subject to availability, email a request to grotto@smarttrees.co.uk for further instructions (this is subject to an administration charge)

One of our group is in a wheelchair is the grotto accessible?

Yes, we do have access for wheelchairs please speak to one of the elves at the Elf station on arrival. Due to the Christmas trail being in a Christmas tree field we cannot guarantee that it will always be accessible for wheelchairs, particularly if we have had poor weather. The rest of the site including cafes/shop and outdoor play areas has suitable access.

Do I have to print my tickets?

Bringing a printout of your tickets will significantly reduce your waiting time but as long as you can show the email or a screenshot on your phone this will suffice.

Can we bring friends/grandparents into the Grotto?

Each party can be a maximum of 8 including children. Each person entering the grotto will have to purchase a ticket in order to attend the Grotto and experience all we have to offer onsite.

Can we select a Christmas tree in the field and have it dug up with the roots intact?

Smart trees do not dig up Christmas trees with roots for customers
